Picnic at Mt. Vernon

I have been away from the blog for so long now and am so sorry! We've been busy with a week-long visit from Nana, Uncle Tim, and Uncle Jeff for Libby and Drew's birthday, which fell on Easter Sunday this year. We had a GREAT time with all of them and were able to spend some fun times together. On Thursday, April 1st, we packed a picnic lunch and headed down to Mt. Vernon. It was a beautiful day and the flowers were all starting to bloom. We had a picnic on the Bowling Green (aka Martha and George's yard), walked down the forest trail, and toured the farm. We stopped in the new visitor's center/museum and saw lots of really neat things, including a 4-D movie of the Revolutionary War and life-size wax figures of George Washington.

We were all so pooped by the time we left and decided to stop at Cici's Pizza Buffet for dinner on the way home. Libby and Drew had about 3 plates of macaroni, pizza, and brownies, too!!
