Hello Again

I have been the worst blogger lately as you see I haven't posted in almost 2 weeks. Last week was my spring break, but I still kept busy with the babies. We went out to Maryland on Monday with my friend Tracey to visit our friend Shelley and her precious baby Annabel. The rest of the week we just ran here and there to our favorite places-- you know-- Costco, Target, and the grocery! The good thing is that I'm learning new tricks about these stores. For example, I know that if I use one of those obnoxious carts with the play car on the front, then that one is a double seater so both babies can fit up in the seated part near me. The regular carts are made just for 1 child. Costco has double ones, too. Target-- not so "twin friendly", so mostly I push them in the stroller and pull the cart. I get tons of stares, but then again, a lot of people get out of my way. But we still get stopped as if we are celebrities wanting to know all about the twins. And I mean everything. Some people flat out ask if I went through fertility. I usually respond, "Does that matter?" Many say, "I don't envy you!" or something along those lines. It doesn't really bother me that much b/c I know that deep down most people are just curious, but then again, I can't wait until the day when we can become unnoticed. I don't know... maybe other MoM's (Mothers of Multiples) feel the same way.

I felt sorry for the sweeper at Giant (the grocery) b/c we must have left a trail of Cheerios a mile long. They would drop them, then I would either accidentally step on them or roll over them. I kept thinking I would hear the lady from the movie Mr. Mom saying, "Merv, clean up on aisle 7!" That was a funny movie. But a nice worker helped me out to the van and unloaded all of my groceries without me even asking. I was so appreciative and let her know it. More stores should offer this service. So, back to my "I wish we could go unnoticed" part above... maybe I'm changing my mind about that one!

  1. I don't know how you do it with the stroller and cart! I am not so coordinated! I would be blushing red as I steer my cart into people's behinds or knocking things off shelves!!! Celia will be 2 and a half and saying "mom! I really don't want to go in the Bjorn again!" lol
Personally, I don't mind being noticed with the twins. As long as they are polite and its short and sweet. I don't get fertility questions hardly ever - which is odd- I would think I would.

  2. Sounds like you've had a busy few weeks! Shopping does take some creative thinking when you have twins. I feel like I am the Target expert (we go there all the time) and I have finally got the shopping thing down. One baby goes up front with the shopping cart cover and the other baby in the buggy (wiped down twice before going in). So far it has been great because the baby in the buggy loves it. I have to put bread and eggs underneath the cart though. And we drop crumbs everywhere!

  3. I am surprised we never bump into each other! We go to all of the same places. LOL
I think we will be noticed less when they are older. (cross fingers)

  4. We get noticed all the time too. I feel like a circus freak show half the time. Somedays it doesn't bother me at all and other days it drives me nuts. I've never ever gotten the fertility question...weird...but the silly questions like, "Are they twins?" "Boy / Girl?" really leave me stunned some times. My gosh...isn't it quite obvious???
