Drew has always been a drooler, but is pouring out buckets the past few days. That, along with fussiness and a low-grade fever, tell me that teeth are the likely culprit yet again. But this time, he's getting the worst ones-- those canines on top and bottom. Motrin and mommy cuddling has helped, but it's hard seeing them in pain, especially when they don't understand what's happening.
Libby took a 3 1/2 hour nap along with Drew today, which is quite unusual. Of course, they are still trying to get back to our regular routine since being home. When I picked her up out of her crib, she was warm and shoving her fist in her mouth. GREAT!
Neither wanted to eat b'fast or lunch and I knew something was wrong when Libby didn't use the sign for "cracker" at all (she usually uses it a zillion times a day). They just wanted milk and to lay ON me. They are quite heavy now and usually fight for Mommy's lap, but didn't mind sharing it today. A paci for Libby and a thumb for Drew along with Teletubbies and Oswold for all made up our afternoon. Libby just layed on my left arm staring up into my eyes. It was the best feeling, especially b/c she eventually fell asleep right in my arms. I treasure each second they cuddle with me, though, since they are growing so fast right before my eyes. Plus, I am starting work again on Monday, so I won't be able to be with my babies all day like I have been this summer. I am sad...
I'm sad for you too Katie. :( I love snuggle bugs and I'm glad Libby fell asleep in your arms looking up at you. That just makes me want to cry. :)
ReplyDeleteIn spite of all of the ick for them, it does sound like a lovely way for you all to spend the afternoon. ♥
ReplyDelete(Monday, yes! Good luck with things. I'm afraid of my boxes...)
Poor kids. :( Glad they have their mommy to comfort them yesterday. You and Joanna have mentioned Oswold. Must be a good show. I hope this year goes well for you! Can't believe the summer is over already. WEnt way too fast!
