Summer Fun

Since Darrell is off every other Friday, we decided it was a great day to take the babies down to the pool. It is 1 perk of living in our neighborhood-- 4 pools to choose from. We lathered them up in SPF 50, put on their swimsuits and headed down the street. I bought these little boats for them and they just loved being in the water. We swam for over an hour and they were wrinkled little prunes. Libby loved to splash and Drew was just "chillin". We all had such a great time. Several of our friends and neighbors happened to be there at the same time, so it was a great way to visit with everyone. Plus, I was thrilled to see that it actually wasn't too hard to have just one person with both babies. The only time I'll need a helping hand is getting them in and out of the pool. But there is always someone we know there, so we should be able to go a lot more often. That is great since I need to work on my tan!

Here are some cute photos of the babies getting ready for the pool:

On another note, I thought I would include some photos from day 2 post-op so you can see the nice shiner Libby has. Looks like she got in a brawl! She is doing amazingly well and doesn't seem to be irritated at all by her stitches or the bruising.

  1. The water looks so nice and cool, I love those little boats you have for them. I like that there is shade on it. How lucky are you to have a pool so close!

  2. oh wow! she did get some post op bruising. At least bruises don't hurt. Do the stitches dissolve?
Those swimming rafts look like fun, Katie!

  3. They look cute in their shades and that water looks sooooo good! I'm at my Sister's in Washington and they're having a HEAT wave. I think I might actually be in Arizona with Joanna! It's over 100° here!
