So, we're getting another big snowstorm tomorrow and Saturday. They estimate 20+ inches! We still have about an inch or 2 on the ground, so basically, it will be a nice bit to shovel. My school district has already canceled school tomorrow, which means we are not only working Presidents' Day, but now the kids have to come to school instead of us having a Teacher Workday in a few months. After that, we'll probably have to add days to the end of the year. Let's hope the snow is almost over so we're not in school until July!
On the car ride home today, Drew was being his cute little self:
Drew: Mama, I need my Litnin MaQueen sunglasses.
Me: No, you don't need them because it's not sunny. It's cloudy, very cloudy. {Mostly said this because I couldn't reach the sunglasses from the front seat. Luckily, he took the bait}...
Drew: {pause, as he thinks up this} The sun is sleeping in the clouds, Mama?
Me: {grin} Yes, you're right.
Drew: And when it wake up 'morrow it bright for me, for my eyes.
Later that night after bath and right before bed (you know, when the stalling REALLY starts)...
{I had bought 2 mylar Saints balloons at the party store today to prepare for the Super Bowl this weekend}
Drew: Daddy, I want my bwoon in my bed
Darrell: No, Drew, that is really dangerous. It could hurt you so we're putting it on your closet door.
Drew: Well... actually {yes, he really DID say that} I want it on my dresser instead. {with puppy dog eyes}
Darrell: Okay, on your dresser then.
