3-year-old Checkup

Libby and Drew had their 3-year-old checkup on 4/26/10. Dr. Shannon was surprised to see how big both of them are. We had a nice checkup and here are their stats:

Libby
height: 36.75 inches
weight: 33.25 lbs.

Drew
height: 37 inches
weight: 29.5 lbs.

So, Drew has outgrown Libby again and is also smaller. Drew is a skinny little guy, but he always has been. He's in the 25th percentile now, but no one is worried about him since he eats like any other 3-year-old.

Things we've noticed lately of our 3-year-olds:
* both are holding markers really well with a tripod grasp - they love to color with markers, paints, or crayons
* potty training is going pretty well for both
* they are really starting to have little conversations and lots of horseplay with one another now- really cute to watch
* we've converted both cribs to toddler beds with a rail- Drew LOVES to get up and run in Libby's room to play, so we're working on that
* Drew is getting better at pedaling his tricycle; Libby isn't so interested
* Drew loves loves loves Toy Story and we can't wait to go to see Toy Story 3 this summer when it comes out
* Libby is getting more into the Disney princesses and loves picking out her Cindawella, Uhwoahwa (Aurora), Aweeul, or Snow White underwear to match her outfits each day. She is also VERY picky about her clothes and basically never wants to wear dresses. But she's into shirts that have some sort of graphic on them-- like an elephant, flower, monkey, etc. She loves anything purple right now.
* Drew is starting to dress himself and wants NO help
* Libby is pulling her pants and underwear down and is getting better at pulling them up, too. Socks and shirts are still a little hard.
* Cutest mispronunciations: Libby - "mazagine", goil (for girl), and bulebahweez (blueberries); Drew - lispy little /s/ with frontal lingual protrusion (so cute for a speech therapist)

Exciting news:
Libby and Drew are going to preschool in the fall, so we had to pick out backpacks. Libby picked out a pink one with a preppy green turtle and Drew picked a blue one with a rocket ship. I wonder if they'll ever pick something other than pink and blue!

  1. Great update!! So you got rid of the cribs huh? I bet they were excited:)Sounds like potty training is going VERY well!! Brandon still isn't interested. Funny... Faith pedals her tricycle FAST and loves to ride! But Brandon just doesn't get it:(
Faith also loves dresses and wants to match:)
